Mountaineering on the Monviso

Via Normale Monviso (The standard route)

A very alpine standard route to reach the top of the “Re di Pietra”

Base: Pian della Regina

Accommodation: refuge hut Quintino Sella

Departure point: on demand. Please note that only up to 2 people/ guide are permitted on the climb.

Equipment: mountaineering boots, harness, 2 screw gate carabiners

Programme:

1st day: meeting at Pian della Regina at about 1pm, equipment check and assent to the hut, 2.5 hours

2nd day: departure around 6 am, short approach walk up the eastern gully and assent along the eastern ridge. Upon reaching the top descent along the normal route to the starting point the Quintino Sella hut, and from there the last stretch down to the Pian della Regina.

Cost: 230 € group of 2 people /450 € single person

Included in the cost: guidance by an alpine guide, use of any potentially necessary/ missing equipment and the R.C. insurance cover

Monviso East ridge

Period: June - October

Great classic, an unmissable climb along the most natural line to reach the top of the Viso. Particularly interesting with the assent of St. Robert pinnacle.
